Set Up Membership Types

Created by Rubric Support, Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 5:24 PM by Rubric Support

Membership types define the different memberships your club offers. Here are a few key distinctions to consider:

  • Membership period - Choose from options like 6-month or 12-month memberships. Yearly memberships are the most popular.

  • Member type - Consider different types, such as free memberships for current students and paid ones for alumni, or tiered memberships (Gold/Silver/Bronze) offering varied benefits.

Having different membership types allows you to segment memberships and create targeted discounts, ticket types and communication strategies.

Many clubs opt for a single annual membership, which works well too!

Tip: Set up a new membership type each year rather than editing existing ones to avoid impacting current members.

Creating a membership type

  1. Go to Memberships from the top menu

  2. Select Create/Edit Memberships

  3. Click on the ‘Create Membership’ button. Decide if it's a standard type or bundled with merchandise.
